As a proud Aggie graduate, my formative academic years at Texas A&M equipped me with a solid grounding in cellular and molecular biology. But my relentless thirst for knowledge, paired with an unwavering dream to serve in healthcare, compelled me to reach beyond the boundaries of an undergraduate degree.

To become an exceptional physician, one must first be a diligent student of medical science. The University of North Texas Health Science Center's Masters in Medical Science program stood out to me as an opportunity to dive deeper into the medical landscape. I sought to quench my curiosity with academic exposure to a myriad of medical topics, as well as gain a more in-depth understanding of the field that I aspired to excel in.

The highly revered faculty, and the program's dedication to academic, clinical, and research excellence drew me into UNT's orbit. The masters program offered an environment that was conducive to critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent study - essential skills for any successful physician.

Beyond Academia: A Platform for Holistic Development

While my initial application to medical school during my undergraduate studies didn't bear fruit, I viewed this as an opportunity rather than a setback. It became a catalyst for self-improvement, propelling me to seek out new academic, clinical, and volunteer experiences to augment my medical school application. I realized that to be an exceptional physician, one must go beyond academia. The remote-nature of the program allowed me to hone these indispensable skills.

Aiming for the MD Dream: A Personal Manifesto

A happy image to close the blog, taken at Texas A&M by my family.

I harbor an undying dream to treat and aid those in need, using the power of science as my tool and compassion as my guide. Medicine, to me, is more than a career - it's a lifelong commitment to serve humanity. The journey to an MD degree may be strenuous, but the reward of healing and helping others is immeasurable.

As I embark on the next chapter of my journey towards becoming a physician, I am filled with profound gratitude for the knowledge and experiences I've gained at UNT. My time here has further ignited my passion for medicine and has equipped me with a strong foundation to reach my dream of earning an MD.

In sharing my journey, I hope to inspire my fellow students at UNT and beyond. May we all strive to be the best in our chosen fields, forever driven by the desire to learn, to grow, and to serve.

In this academic journey, remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Keep the passion burning, remain resilient in the face of adversity, and let your dream to serve be your guiding light.
